Documentary making in Tanzania

Sunrise set 2Two MA Documentary students, Saoirse Crean and James Walsh, had an amazing opportunity to travel to Tanzania and make documentary work about  LJMU researchers who study monkeys and apes in their natural habitat with the Greater Mahale Ecosystem Research and Conservation Project (GMERC), in Tanzania.

Saoirse and James used drones and 360 filming as well as more conventional documentary techniques to capture life in the camp and the work on the project. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity to film in this extraordinary environment – we look forward to seeing the finished documentary – but in the meantime – Here’s a taster video about life at the camp – more to follow shortly…
