Our Day Out Exhibition Opens
‘Our Day Out’ is a Heritage Lottery funded project – aiming to add voice to an archive collection of photographs featuring the local seaside resort of New Brighton from the 1960s.
Working with student volunteers, a series of workshops and interviews were conducted at two local community centres in Liverpool resulting in the creation of individual post cards depicting images from the collection together with short personalised messages reflecting on the theme of a day out to the seaside. QR code links also provide access to individual interviews conducted by second year Media Production students.
To celebrate the completion of the project a small exhibition featuring photographs from the archive and the stories they inspired have been made available at the Museum of Liverpool from November 2014 until September 2015. The exhibition is also accompanied by a website and short video documenting the project and archive images.
